28inch RR eagle added to collection today

Hey dudes! Well, I took the plunge! I've long wanted to add a railroad eagle to my collection and the piece arrived today! A larger 28 inch example manufactured by PS....no one knows the exact name of this maker - now there's a project!

I wanted to make sure I got a legit example as the repros are getting better and better so I was quite pleased when this one came up for sale from Lakesidetrader. Paul had even checked with JR for his take on this eagle to make sure it was legit. I'm comfortable in assuming this one is legit. It's a first for me....so I wasn't taking any chances...

From what I gather - PS is the only maker to actually size stamp their eagles: 720 is 720mm (roughly 28inches). I assume BLN stands for Berlin.

Lots of pics to load....Here we go...Man, I really like this piece. I would almost consider this a piece of TR art!

Cheers!

Rob

Need some help in Norfolk!!

Hello to you all,
I might have to clear a workshop in the northern part of Norfolk.
The plan is to cross from Holland to Harwich with a lorry.
But it could be that I can not take everthing in one time, is there anybody arround Harwich willing to rent me some dry space( like one or two garages), so I can empty the house and come back later on (it could take a month), to fetch it.
I will pay cash up in front. It could be going on thise very WE!!
Thanks for helping me out!
PS It does NOT concern militaria!! ;)

RZM marked ring

What is going on…

I place this topic in the Uniform section, but it is really universal.

My question is what the hell is going on? I consider myself fairly well connected to the Soviet militaria market. Dimas... you should know that by all our common friends and associates. From where I stand, what is going on is a huge drop in the quantity of Soviet militaria on the open market. I realize that economic gains over the last few years of collectors in Russia proper, but that alone does not explain what I am seeing. What I have seen is an evaportation... A huge shift over a short period of time.

Has the Russian Federation increased it's enforcement of their antiquities and cultural history laws over the last 12-24 months?
A while back someone posted the link over to the Moscow based Antik1941. They clearly say the only ship to addresses inside Russia. I wanted to believe that was stated only for legal reason and that since they operated a website with world wide access then surely they had a "work around".

Apparently that is not the case... Those guys will not even answer my inquiry regarding that subject... the last one I sent was even in Russian!
