I picked up this wonderful and rare (100,00 produced in 1918, far fewer converted into transitionals and far fewer still survived the war) helmet a few years ago from the WAF estand but must move it on to a new care taker.
The transitional over-paint is a good 80%. The early, grey lined, eagle decal is about 65% and was evidently touched up at one point. The M31 liner and pins are unmessed with and fully intact, shows a good bit of wear but still soft and supple with no damage to the fingers and with the original tie string and a size 55 stamp. The ET64 stamp is on the left apron but is obscured by the over paint and illegible. The chinstrap is also present and original to the helmet.
This helmet has been discussed here (more photos as well) and goes back to 2004; http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ht=M18+ear+cut
Asking $3250.00 plus shipping. Check or money order preferred but I can do PP w/4%.
I been trying to purchase my first Krim Shield. Each one I have found on line has been a FAKE. I'm trying again, could someone look at the attached photos and give me an opinion?
Thank you
Cliff
Hello any info on this ortz would be great, thanks ANDY T
Hi
I am new to this site so hope I am placing this thread in an appropriate place.
I am trying to identify the following feldpost numbers:
36800A - In a ss driving licence
M10626 and 19148 (may be M19148) in a soldbuch to a member of a destroyer flotilla
M35032 and M20372 in a soldbuch belonging to a minesweeper crew member
M01277A, M01277B and M23657 6 (may be a b) found in a 1943 Kriegsmarine diary.
and 18985 found in a soldbuch to a member of the LSSAH. This is an entry that may relate to his hospitalisation in April 1943.
I have collected these documents over many years and am now carrying out further research with all this spare time that is characteristic with part time teaching.
Many thanks to anyone who can help.
:)
