2 tunics from the same soldier

Hi

I was very lucky as I was able to get 2 tunics from the same soldier. His name was Fritz Beer. I was able to get information on him. He did not survived the war as I was able to get information from the War grave resistry.. I was not able to get his military records. The L on the shoulder boards is nice, but other speciaties other than the Lehr division used the L.

thanks

Juan.

Stug 667 Brigade

I didn't know if this was the right place to
post this but I am looking for information
on Gottwald Stier—30+ Kills (StuG Brigade 667)
Knight's Cross (date unknown). I think I
have a couple of pictures of him working
as a interpreter for the British. It came
as part of a collection, one of the pictures
is of German POW's and had the following
notes with it.

Quote:

May 1945, Lauenburg, Germany. Our first task after the war ended was to cope with these German soldiers, 20,000 of them. They had retreated from the Russian Army, but could not cross to the West bank of the Elbe. As they were prisoners of war, we had to control and feed them, before delousing them and arranging transport to take them to POW camps. Lauenburg later became one of the crossing places between the British and Russian Zones, and later between West and East Germany.
Any information would be appreciated, a photo of him
would be out of this world!!!

Cheers
Kieron

Ironcross overdose!

Here is an Ironcross overdose. Warning! Not for the fainthearted collector!

While in Moscow I visited the museum of the Red Army/museum of the armed forces.

Whilst there I came across this glass pyramid:

I guess you would have to cough up more than just a few hundred quids for the content of the glass pyramid.

Supposedly the decorations were captured on a train bound for Stalingrad, but I were not able to verify this, so please take this bit of information with a grain of salt.

Legal disclaimer: I will not be responsible for any collectors going into cardiac arrest over these pics.:)

Hello there

I tried to find an introdutuion page but couldn't
find one. My main interest in WW2 is the North
African Campaign and have over 3000 original
photos and associated paperwork of this
fascinating campaign. alot of which can be
viewed on my website at

www.eightharmy.co.uk

I have been browsing a few of the threads
on here and I found it very interesting

My great uncles airplane

I really have no idea where to post this thread so I'll just go with this one. I have been researching my great uncle who was shot down and killed over France in July, 1944 and I think I found a P-47 that is pretty close to the one he flew. This particular fighter is from the same fighter group (358th) and has the orange tail that all of the aircraft in my great uncles squadron had.
