Hi Ben & all, Here's an 1938 R.S.S. buckle I picked up a while back.
I know it's a bit worn; but I like the feel of one with a bit of service under it's belt!! Excuse the pun:D
As well as the wear to the front, the inside is also worn where the belt hook has rubbed it during use.
I must admit I've got a bit of a soft spot for R.S.S. buckles as my first ever belt & buckle I bought for £10 in 1980 (aged 14) was an R.S.S. dated 1936. Wish I still had it:weep:
More pics to follow,
Cheers,
Richard.
In Germany every three months we have "Bulk Rubbish Collections".
People put out their rubbish that will not fit into the normal dustbins.
Beate and I were on our way home from the shops on Monday and we saw someone having a clear out of old stuff from the 1920s and 1930s Wow!
We asked if we could take some of the stuff and we were told "Help yourself".
We took a 1925 childrens pram, three 30s suitcases, baskets and a rare Selmer Clarinet (Paris, 1930)......... here are two pics before we restore the items for our German Home Front display.
Cheers, Bill.
Any help would be appreciated in identifying this WW2 German mag box.I thought it was an unknown variant of box for the ZB26/MG26t, but it appears I was wrong (again!) It has got me stumped as I can't think of any magazine that will fit and also the strange layout of the box, with the middle section by the catch,is this space wasted? Please take a look at the attached pictures, thanks, Peter.
Hi,
I am posting photos of the stampings of what they tell me is a GPW period Plasch-palatka.
Is it a genuine stamp or a fake? if so, can it possibly be wartime, or maybe early post war?
I appreciate your help.
Regards,
Gus
May be you know, how much can cost?
I haven't been able to identify the cypher on these boards. Anyone know?
The nine point coronet would indicate a count but who is Count "K" and what regiment was named after him?
A cavalry sleeve patch and (I believe) a star for an overseas cap with an embroidered hammer & sickle. I presume the star is Soviet, but perhaps not. It came from a German militaria show in 1970's or 80's but could be communist of different origin - even KPD.
Any thoughts?
I have a few tallies in my collection.
One is easy enough, an Imperial "Admiral Nakimov" - a beautifully made band in silk.
The other two I presume are submarines from WW2 or thereafter, any help?
