Okinawa Battlefield site

Love this site,
What a cure after a day of training in the field!
I'm sitting here in the Marine Barracks on a WW2 era torpedo bomber airfield used vs. the U-boots of the Carolina coast. Anyways, I'm a Pacific war guy now due to my Marine travels but used to be a European collector, so these finds on this site are fantastic! For any interested parties, I have a site on found relics of the Pacific (Okinawa) at Home for interested parties.

Skulls I collected from the late 70’s

Hi Guys,

Can anyone shed any light on a particular skull. It is an early type jawless one, the link also shows a DSM skull that I understand is very rare (posted this on another forum & had several offers on it).

The RZM 41 skull is a fake as I suspected, really want some opinions on the jawless one and the small panzer skull (if poss).

Link to my images is Picasa Web Albums - cris - SS Skulls and...

If anyone cares to post images here, they are more than welcome (images attachments doesn't appear to work for me).

Chris

Order St Anne Medal - original?

Hi Guys,

Bought this medal many years ago in my youth, can anyone tell me if this is an original (it was bought as an original, but the fret work between the arms seems a little crude).

Further images can be found at Picasa Web Albums - cris - Imperial Russ...

Any comments welcome.

Regards
Cris

How many of these patches are SS?

Am I wrong to assume ALL black patches are SS? Here is a group of black patches. I know the Diamond is an SS shooting award. Are any of the others SS? Thanks fo your help.

A one off Piece !!

This is one of the favourite and unusual pieces from my collection.

It's a Pewter tankard awarded in May 1944 by GenLt Fritz Bayerlein the famous Commander of the Panzerlehr Divison.

The tankard was awarded for winning a football competetion which took place amongst the I / 6 and was won by the Third Kompanie.

The I / 6 was the 1 Abteilung ( Panthers ) of Panzer Regt 6 who at that time were part of the Panzer Lehr Regiment 130. In May 1944 the Abteilung were training in France but in early June were entrained for the Eastern Front only to be recalled after the D Day landings to fight with the Division in Normandy.

Many of the footballers who won the trophy were KIA in Normandy.

regards

Paul
