Hi, i had been given this German gravity knife in 1979 by sgt Herman Bose,
Jager Regt, I know it is a 1956 issue paratrooper knife, but i would like to know if anyone knows the value of it. It is made by Solingen Sosfrei.
The logo is a man in armour with A.W.J.r above it, it also has the Bundeswehr eagle on the hilt, if anyone can help i would be obliged.
Dave.
I recently came across this little beauty on Milweb, a French guy form the Normandy region had this item for sale, the history was very vague. He mentioning his Father had acquired it from a wrecked aircraft during the war, stating it was from a P47. It is actually from a P51B/C Mustang, with the high backrest made North American stamps making it a rare piece of kit. It would be interesting to know exactly how it came to reside where it did, but I guess that's all lost in the mists of time, still a nice item, particualy with the lap strap detail.
Evening All,
I was offered this four piece WW1 German Medal Bar with ribbon bar today.A couple of questions - the unknown medal (at least to me) is the second one between Iron Cross 2nd Class & Hindenburg Cross ( think it may be Prussian, due ribbon colour) the fourth medal on the right is red cross. What is the second medal, if its a officer's medal coupled with the red cross medal would it mean the original wearer was a doctor or has it no bearing and the wearer was a normal sanitäter. Also could someone give me a rough price, what one should pay.
Regards
I have a Black flag - approx 3.5' x 3.5' - that has a large White skull & crossbones, and the word "KILLER" on it - and that is all it says. It is made from Silk or rayon. Can't tell them apart.. :) The guy I got it from said it was a Viet Nam War SOG unit flag, but did not know which one. I can do a partial scan of it, but no camera. Your info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
