Awhile back I posted a thread with pictures about three M1´s I found at a car Swap Meet. The pictures arent visible any longer because new forum functions. Here they are again posted as attached pictures.
The helmets are three american M1 fixed bales front seam helmet lids. They have been sandblasted by some previous owner (hate that guy for doing it). When I got them they had large amounts of surface rust and one of the had approx 3 cm extremly hard laquer in it. According to the seller they were all found on an old boat that was being scrapped. Interestingly he claimed there had been 50 M1´s on that boat.
Started with to inspect the helmets. No paint seemed to have survived the sandblasting. They also had many many stress fractures not unknown to early M1´s. One of the helmets also had a old repair done to one of the fractures by the left bale. It had been brasswelded and the bale hade been reattached. Probably an old repair. All helmets also showed lots of dings and dents.
These first pictures show the helmets as I got them. Worth mentioning is that they were all stacked together and very hard to get loose.
These pins belonged to an older relative who was a member of the local communist party in Sweden during the 1930/40´s. Im not sure exactly when, but he visited Soviet and brought these pins back. My best guess is that it was just after the war.
Found them awhile back when my grandmother passed away.
They are civilian and I dont know that much about them. Would be nice if anyone seen anything like them.
Found this book at a fleemarket. I dont own it but Ive promised to try and found what it is. Its looks like a period book about the german offensive against England.
It has some pictures in it but mostly text wich I cant read since its in german. Anyone seen anything like it?
Here is part of my Sturmgeschutz related collection,
This Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen was part of the estate of Major Gottfreid Geissler a famous Sturmgeschutz Officer.
Geissler was awarded the Knights Cross for combat in Estonia in 1941, his Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen was awarded for the same series of combat actions. At this time he was an Oberleutnant in Sturmgeschutz Abteilung 185.
The badge is of solid make , in zinc and was made by the maker Weidemann.
regards
Paul
Just a treath to thank anybody with out spoiling a great treath!
Thise one goes to Ben! Thanks and keep up the good work!
If thise could be done for any other item we deal with in thise forum, that would be of a great help, especially for NOT (or badly..)English speaking people.
Hi all, I have been inspired to do this thread after a recently helping out a member. It is my plan to post pictures of differing buckles from early to late to help the novice/beginner buckle collector in order to give them a basic understanding of buckle production, name parts and different types of buckles. This will hopefully improve their knowledge about buckles and in turn could help avoid guys buying fakes. Any requestd taken, I will post buckles as and when I get the time to edit them. If this proves a success we can build up the thread and maybe include specific makers and their own characteristics :D

This is a real puzzlement to me! It looks good, but it is small. It is only 3.9 cm square! The ring is bent, but is soldered, and the ring's color looks right. The Cross seems to be made from Brass, or some Cuprious metal. Your ideas most welcome! Would someone show me the correct ribbon for it? Do you have an original one for sale? Thanks.
