Why I am the Lost Battalion man.

Thought you guys would find this interesting. A couple shots of a small portion of my collection of Lost Battalion relics. The whole collection, which is more than just relics, was only displayed once - in Chicago back in February 2007. It took 3 of us nearly ten hours to set it all up. the dog tag is to a guy listed as MIA from the Lost battalion, however I believe that I am very close to identifying which 'Unknown' grave in France is his.
Always looking for more Lost Battalion items, if you have any you are willing to part with.

Rob

FN model 1906

Hi all!

This is one of my first posts so I hope I get things atleast close to right.
I have lurked here a while now and enjoyed many nice pictures and knowledge seem plentiful here.
I wanted to show you two variations of the FN 1906 pistol that resides in my collection.
Caliber is as you might know 6.35mm or .25 Auto, Made by Fabrique Nationale Darmes de Guerre Herstal in Belgium.
Many copies exist, especially from spain.
The upper gun is an early one and lacks safety catch, safety catch was later added and can be seen on the lower gun.
Second picture shows the gun in the leather pouch that came with it when I bought the gun.
According to the story around the gun it belonged to a nurse/midwife that often travelled the swedish countryside alone. Hopefully she never had to use the gun as defense.
I also have an FN 1910/22 with german stampings, maybe I will show you that one later, if there is interest.

Best regards
Laplander

It’s still out there !

I went to a local "antique auction" last week .... and this turned up !
.. Described as a "large wicker hamper" !!!

Turns out to be a 1944 dated British Airborne resupply wicker pannier !

Turkish Pistol?

I am trying to identify a pistol. It looks like a copy of a 1910 Brownig in 380 cal, except the safety is in front of the stock, just behind the trigger underneath where your thumb would naturally lie.
On the right side there is a "T" over a "C" inside a circle. On the left side it reads "1943", a large "N" over a cresent moon and star and "No 2931".
The safety is marked "Em" in the up position and "Ates" in the down position. It was aquired in Lybia in the early 1950's so I thought Turkish. Any input would be helpfull, thanks in advance.

Black SS Transitional Helmet

This is a commercial manufacture helmet owned by Martin Moser, a SS
officer from Standarte 52.Moser was SS member #23019 and NSDAP member #612363. He evidently purchased this helmet as an Untersturmfuhrer with Allgemeine Standarte 52 based in Krems. Moser went on to be an officer in Totenkopf and later part of the cadre of Thule.
The helmet was obtained from the famous Darryl Pajot collection a number of years ago. It is shown in Kelly Hick's book on SS helmets, "SS Steel."
