Hey gang...Thought I'd post something a little different. It's my first pattern German pith helmet. What I like about this one is that the sweat stains are still present on the front of the helmet. I'd love to know where this one was used. I've also added some sun goggles to the lid to "add some character"....;)
Cheers!
Rob
Gents,
I'm certainly happy to report that through my Sister in Law's kind gift of an Ebay GIft Cert. I was able to buy my first EKII Award Document. I have never ventured into collecting Award Documents, but I have a funny feeling this won't be my last. Any additional info you can provide on this one would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Joel
saw a perfect condition steel ammocan, essentially the same as one from vietnam era, excepting that the green was more olive, less brown, marked 'FA 18 .45 ball' in normal yellow, did they use steel cans then or is this repacked? i was surprised at the condition and fact the box was not wood.
I have this cap in my collection for about 20 years. It was acquired in Germany.
I realise the masks were seldomly worn and as a consequence, photos must be pretty rare. Well, I can't find many at least!
Anyhow, I'm particularly interested in photos of Russian soldiers wearing their masks. Somehow, I think it's a long shot, but why not try?
And if this is the wrong place for this topic, please let me know... I'm new to the forum, just getting to know the place! :)
Many happy returns Peter. Stewy
