The Russian Girls !

During World War 2 the women of Russia stood up to be counted in actual combat probably more than any of the other nations involved in the conflict.

Here are a few photos of some of the Russian Ladies who became Heros (Heroines) of the Soviet Union :D

Lydia Litvyak ( below )" the White lily of Stalingrad " a female fighter pilot with 12 victories who flew with Katya Budanova who had 11 victories, both women were killed in action in 1943.

German trench art

Hi

Need help! Identify this pin (If wrong place, please move)

Hello everybody!

After visiting my grandparents hosue over Christmas, my grandfather gave me this pin. He told me he got it when he was stationed in England from a friend just after the war.

Any information would help!

Can anyone ID this shoulder board?

I just bought this, and haven't a clue what it is. One thing puzzles me. In the button hole is a (apparantly) chrome plated button. Did the Germans use chrome for any of their uniform buttons? Perhaps it was just placed there by someone in the past 65 years, but the clip on it looks period. Your help would be appreciated.

LW 2 Dagger by Switzer

The LW 2 Sword turned out to be a dagger! I guess the ww 2 vet I bought it from was a little confused. But it is a nice one! There are two knots with it. One is a little bit larger than the other. Any ideas if EITHER of them would go with this dagger - correctly? Any offers?
