hi all,i have several bevo runes like this, but im unsure of this one, is it a varient or fake, its out of shape thus the runes are bent, i can see thread were it may of been sewed to a tunic, any critisisms great to, bonfire night here soon:D

Hello, I am new here. I have tried verifying the authenticity of this German Cross in Gold for about 2-3 years now and I haven't had too much luck yet. I was hoping someone here could verify that it is real or inform me if it is not. From what I have read, the mounting rivits on the back come in sets of 4,5,6,7,8,10. Mine only seems to have 3. I do know for a fact that the original clasp has been replaced, and if you open the clasp you can tell that the wear marks are at a different angle than the clasp that is on it, which led me to believe it is a replacement clasp.


This medal really does weigh quite a lot. Definately surprised me when I first picked it up.


Also, out of curiosity, I have seen repros going for $200 that are crappy and fake looking and I haven't seen any originals for sale yet. Is this medal considered rare and I found a really valuable medal? I paid $95 for this at an antique store. Reguardless of value, this is really cool looking

Just wanted to post a recent purchase to share. The group consists of a letter to SS-Oberfuhrer Hubert Klausner's widow from Himmler and bears his pen signed signature on Reichsfuhrer-SS stationary. There's also a letter from Himmler's adj. Richard Brandt with his pen signature. Both are dated Feb. 1940 and included an original envelope with the Reichsfuhrer embossed stamp on the reverse.
