My sd lwm40 from the attic

hello

This is my attic find i want to share here.

Three weeks ago i found this helmet in the attic of my grandfathers house while i was working there with my dad. My father told me that he found a german helmet on the attic while he was cleaning there. So i came looking and it was no joke, which i thought it was.

It is a m40 lw sd helmet. It looks it has an SE62 stamp in it, but that is hard to read. It has been untouched for a lot of years. The paint is gone only the two tips of the lw eagle are there. There is an interesting trace of a shrapnel which has gone into the helmet.

The liner, chinstrap and draw cord are original to the helmet. Here are some pictures. It is not a minty one but at least it is untouched and complete with some typical been there look

regards Erwin

Hi,

Can some one help here? is this Japanese?
Aluminum made and it comes from the old capital of Japanese run Manchuria (north-eastern China 1932-1945).

The plane model is heavy, came from an old classroom (about 30cm).

Thanks,
Neil.

Three M1 helmets

A couple of helmets I found at a local flee market for used carparts
Three M1 Front seam fixed bale helmets.

They are all sandblasted (sadly) but show some marks and dings giving me the impression that they are combat relics from europe. All have stress fractures as many other early M1´s. In one case theres a possible wartime repair of one of the fractures. The bale as been welded back and the crack is brasswelded for support.

The story behind the helmets are that they were found onboard an old boat wich was being cut down. And you wont believe this... There were 50 helmets onboard! :shok_yikes:

Sudeten medal. Good or bad?

Since I switched collecting gears from field gear to awards, I'm now fotographing and sorting some things I have had for awhile and never paid a lot of close attention to. Culling the heard so to speak. So far I was able to identify a fake KvKII that is now in the scrap heap. Would like opinions on this Oct 1 1938 Sudetenland annexation medal. It looks good to me but I would like second opinions. Thanks in advance.
