Need help! Looking for specific war footage

Hallo all,

I know a Belgian ww2 veteran who fought with the Canadians during ww2.
I've met him sometimes (he grew up in the same house as my grandmother and, although he is not, he is concidered family). He was 17 when he joined the army in 1944, after escaping from Belgium with an important recistance member. But to keep things short and simple: He saw a documentary about ww2 from the 1970's (I guess maybe "The world at war"?) and he recognised himself in some footage. He told me that there were 2 scenes he believes he is in. One scene is where some Canadians (including him) are entering a building (during street fighting) and another scene where they are crouching or slowly moving and you can see him throwing a grenade over a wall.
When he saw that documentary on Belgian tv, he called the BRT (Belgian Radio & Television) to ask if he could get a copy of that footage, but his request was denied. My father also recalls seeing that exact footage but we can't seem to find anything. I've tried to search the internet (even saw an hour of canadian footage alone) but no succes so far.
Maybe if someone even thinks he once saw the scenes described as above and knows where I can find them, please let me know.
I would be very thankfull.

I know it's a long shot, but it's worth trying :)

New member poping in to say hi. My first post was here,

Phil Brown sent me this way however for some reason I was not able to credit him when I registered.

I collect mostly ww1 but sometimes WWII. I collect helmets in general mostly military but might pick up just about any helmet.

Need help! Japanese Naval helmet pick up?

I just got this in the mail from a old time style surplus store that trades in Militaria.

As I am new to Japanese, I wanted to ask about the paint. It is brushed on paint inside and out. Any flags so far?

Where the metal shows through there is a nice patina, in some areas on the inside, (it will be impossible to see via photos) what seems to me to be a under coat of green comes through in some places but I stress I cannot tell for sure weather it's green or patina on the bare metal?

(Edit: I just looked with a magnifying glass, it's bare metal and not green paint, but very dark patina)

The paint on the front pin might be a little off from the rest of the helmet. Not sure with this either.

I just want to know if I got a decent helmet here or if it's been messed with? Can anyone comment? Photos to follow.... :b:

Question Hitler plaque

Hi
This is my first post and i hope its in the correct part of the forum, apologies if not.
I have taken some photos of a plaque of Hitler with some written German on it that my British Grandfather 'acquired' from a school wall whilst making his way through Germany in 1945.
I was wondering if it was a particulaly rare item, or if anyone may know an approximate value for it, i would never sell it, only wish to know for curiositys sake.

Below is a transcript in German and English of what is written and then a link to the photos .

Ich glaube an Deutschland
und kampfe dafur
heute und morgen und in der zukunft
bis unser der sieg ist.

I believe in Germany and fight for it
Today and tomorrow and in the future
Until the victory is ours
