Recommended 1st book for Tinnies??
OK, I hope you guys are happy, you keep steering me to collecting items I had never considered!! :shok_yikes:
So………What is your recommendation for which book on TR tinnies I should get first?? I know a price guide book would be quickly out of date, but I would at least like to know the main areas to look for to avoid fakes givn that there are SO MANY types of tinnies. Thanks, Bill

An original fake FJ Helmet?
Excuse the oxymoron, but is there such a thing as an original or older fake FJ Helmet? I bought this one about 20years ago from a junk sale. It had evidence of a decal back then, and a couple of years ago I added some repro decals. The helmet has nothing stamped on the shell, but does have ‘M1943′ and ‘58′ printed on the liner. Everything feels high quality, the weight is 1.4 kgs (3 pounds) the leather liner is chamois style leather and the straps are two part. The chinstrap snap has a ‘Prym 6 original’ snap which I understand were produced from the 50s onwards.
Considering the numerous cheap copies coming from India, where would this have come from and what would it be worth?

spent hours looking around

but we had a woods party and cooked a pig
