Hello guys,
This is the first of two threads of my latest additions to my collection.
This the first is an Australian Mk1 Machete Bayonet also known as the "Paratrooper" Bayonet. There are no makers mark apart from the SLAZ mark on the grips. There is also a 4 digit number on the pommel.
The blade has retained its origional blueing.
The cnvas scabbard has a brass stud on the securing strap and the back is dated 1944. These proved to be not much use as a bayonet and not too cool as a Machete.
Approx 2,000 were made which I belive makes this a scarce bayonet.
Any other information appreciated.

I am buying this soldbuch grouping from a guy who lives in Leipzig Germany, that I know through forums, etc.

I have not done any research on this particular grouping yet. Rudolf Keller was wounded in February, 1945 (and got the BWB). The seller has not yet sent me a picture of page 12-13. So, I am not sure what wound he sustained.

I have a few questions though:

I am wondering if you guys think the damage to the book was from him being wounded. I cant think of anything else that would have cause this kind of damage, but maybe you guys have some ideas?

And, do any of you know what some of the extra documents are?

Thought this might be of interest to some. He was a Fernsprecher and served on Krete, during the occupation and was later transferred to Italy as part of the HG div, seeing action on Sicily and at Salerno.

this german WW1 artillery periscope is located at the US Field Artillery Museum in Ft Sill OK. seems almost impossible to find anything about it or pictures in action. Can anybody help or address me to the right site please
