my north korean orders

Order of Freedom and Independence, 2nd cl, Type 1, Soviet-made screw back, 1950s issue.
Silver gilt, enamels. Very high quality, typical of Soviet mint manufacture, with beautiful enamels. Massive construction, 56.4 x 54.9mm.

Excellent condition. The details show almost no wear.

Established in 1950, this order was a strictly combat decoration, awarded exclusively by the DPRK Supreme Peoples Assembly Standing Committee. It was issued to leaders of larger military and guerilla units. A few were also awarded to Soviet military advisers and pilots who fought in the Korean War. This order can be roughly compared to the Soviet Order of Alexander Nevsky.

I have 3 this orders.

Need help! Family history research

Hi Guys, I wonder if any American members of the forum can help me with some family history research?

I have discovered I have an American ancestor who was my Great, great, great, great, great grandfather! His name was Edward Higgs and was born in
Prince William, Virginia, in 1756. I believe, but have no documentation, that he lived near Bull Run.

I have tried various free online research sites without any sucess. If any in the US in a member of Ancesrty.com could they do a search for me?

Thanks.

Cheers, Ade.

Question Where to start?

I bumped into this site by accident but after a few days of reading, I have to admit I’m tempted to start my own collection.

It’s an expensive hobby, so I’d like to ask some questions first. :)

1) Where should I buy my first piece? Any places online you’d recommend? Or is online not the way to go?

2) Do items increase or decrease in value over time? My conscience would feel better seeing it as an "investment". ;)

3) I personally don’t care if something looks old, used and rusty. I even like how that looks. But is it a bad investment?

These and any other tips you might have for a beginner are much appreciated. :)

Hello again, I have just purchased these items from a local dealer. As I am a novice, any comments regarding authenticity would be very much appreciated.
The flag measures 745mm x 1180mm. I have posted close-up photos.
The armband is 100mm wide and the circle is 85mm diameter.
The NSDAP badge, sold to me as 1920’s enamel on brass.
Many thanks in advance.
