Hello All,
Picked these three pieces up over the weekend, dont know much about them, hope some members can help me out with some information.(1) ½ litre water canteen produced by Cloeter dated 1909 stamped M.D.4 run the name Cloeter through google - nothing. Is it a WW1 military piece? if so whats M.D.4 ?- on the flat side is engraved in Russian, is a persons name, where he came from and the date 1941 - any Russian readers out there to give his name & town. (2) Joined folk & spoon think its WW1 but is stamped H.H.L. 40 any info on period or maker appreciated. (3) Bullet packaging dated 1943 think bullets were for hunting, they look a bit on the small side for the Wehrmacht. Any information welcome.
Best Wishes

Hi every one iv found these on an old 9th airforce base in essex but im haveing problems finding out much about them can you help? They all came out of the same pond hole behind an old hardstanding. The 1st piece has RYAN AERONAUTICAL co stamped on it and the part number 5223264 14
The 2nd piece is just a smallpiece of tube allso RYAN AERONAUTICAL with the part number 10420 and it has a pat number 2,219,752.
And last but not least. I found loads of CINE KODAK SPOOLS deeper in the mud than the aircraft parts so must be from the war. Would these be from aircraft or just a survice man takeing snap shots?
There is absolutely loads of stuff in this old pond so i will keep you all posted as and when i get time to go back and grab some more.cool militaria
Somebody gave me this strange mortar round he had found on the attic. It seems somebody at one point has converted it into a lamp! Complete with wiring and a switch.
Well, never seen that been done before, but it took me over an hour to grind away the six welds that was holding it to a plate.
The tail piece is marked 2 7 5 9 DHP 1932, and the mortar is marked PDT 1932 42 45 A
Under the olivedrab paint there is some blue color on the top half (please don't tell me it's a practice round due to the blue paint :D)
and it has three strange holes in the side (smoke?).
I think it's something French, in any case it doesn't look like the German 8cm Wurf Granate, or the 3" American mortar rounds I have.
Anybody got a clue what it is?
Anyway, added a pic how it looks like after a good hour of grinding and cleaning!
Here are a slightly unusual group of SA buckles, all of which display unusual ways to affix their roundels.
Any more examples would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
David
