Ok, i have had this since 1968 and never thought much of it (sorry). Then I took it out from under the bed and thought "I wonder when it was made". Now my eyes are sunken, I dont eat, my girlfriend is ready to have me commited and my mates avoid me. Its taken over my bleeding life!! I dont care if its a M40 double decal or an M35 or 32 or.....can you please just give me peace?
The german eagle looks dodgy to me as its beak is not the same as ones I have seen and I have found no mention of the kind of stamp at the back. Sigh....see?...its all i go on about! Please my mates, sort me out. Chris.
Hi all, had these since 1968. Brother bought them in B'ham England. Know what they are supposed to be though i can't find any like them on the net. Could you cast your expert eyes over them and give me your opinion? Just want to know if I should be looking for the lucky bag they came out of or if they are real. P.S. a lucky bag (for any young uns out there) was the peak of excitement in my day!! Thanks either way my mates! Chris.

I did not think someone would bother making copies of these items. The photos are unfortunately not too clear as this is only 9mm in diameter. I can however see that it has no swastika so is it possible that this was made in 1957? Somehow doubt it though.

Hi guys. Hope I got the name right. This is up for grabs, but I have no knowledge of these medals so someone please jump in. :) Is it good? Thank you.

Got this today. It is silver wire thread which concerns me in that it does not have the same design as on my Obergefreiter patch. The backing material is grey and not field grey. I should add that the colour is not as dark as in the photo. Could anyone please shed any light on this? Is it a WW2 era piece? Thank you.

Hi, I saw Ade's post of a soldiers graveyard in Britain, and thought I would show these pics. My Father Daniel, and Grandfather Carl's "U.S. issue" headstones.
You get a choice of granite or marble. I chose the marble for my father, and he choose the granite for his father. They seem to hold up well, but my fathers marble stone has a few years left to catch up to his dad's granite marker.
They are buried At Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles. My Father is buried on the hill aprrox 30 yards to the left from Al Jolson, who has the large memorial shown in the front of the cemetery. The large mausoleum seen in background of the Jolson memorial, has Jack Benny, and his wife resting comfortably inside, along with other famous people.
Jack Benny was one my favorite comedians, and also my father and grandpa's too. They both have good company where they are.
My father was extremely happy with the last piece of real estate he was going to own. I took care of him for 1 1/2 years till he passed in 2001 from cancer. I found the lot for him from a real estate agent for about half of the going price for one, if they could even be found. There were Zero for sale from the cemetery itself, on or near the old hill with Jolson and Benny, or anywhere in fact. My Father was even happier about the price!! :D ;)
I have a old film photo of another grave marker, My Mothers older brother, KIA 1943, and buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Francisco, California. He was 2nd Lt. AAF. I will try to find it, and scan it to post also. It is a beautiful cemetery.
Regards, Steve
I've even heard of these as early SS - but these are strictly SA reserve armbands used by older man of the sturmabteilung. I'll attach a pic with some info on the group.
I have two of these armbands....both original - but with a different construction.
Displays nicely with my dagger and other SA related items.
Cheers!
Rob
