Hi Guys, I thought that I would scan this postcard and share it with you all.
It shows a parade where all the men appear to have been newly decorated, mostly with the EKII. I have not translated the text on the reverse as yet. It looks like it was sent by the standard bearer to a lady friend in Mainz in October 1916.
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Guys, this postcard which was purchased by a soldier of the Regt from a photographic studio in Hamburg in 1916. As is often the case, he has marked himself with an "x".
I wonder how many of these men survived the war?
Does anyone have any info on this Regt?
Cheers, Ade.
Here is a gun I wanted to show you.
A Colt 32 Model 1903, Pocket Hammerless, US Army version.
Caliber is 7,65mm Auto or as you say in America 32 ACP.
Magazine takes 8 rounds.
This one is parkerized(phosphatized), a method for protecting against corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear.
This particular gun was made around 1944-1945.
I would very much like to get my hands on a nice armyholster for this one.
If someone has an extra holster and is willing to part with it, please send a PM.
All the best
Laplander
hello to you all.
I will try to give you an idea of how an insigna, belt buckel or any other ornament have been made until now.
To Ade & Dimas feel free to correct what ever you thinks needs to be done; spelling faults included!;)
It may take a few weeks before this thread will be complete with my input; as there is a lot to tell and lots to show.
You will not find any TR die in this thread, coming from my collection, because the one's who came with the lot where sold qiuet rapidly.
Here is a first example of a complete die set to make one insigna.
Hi Guys,
Here's an early armband I have with both early tags and one I don't know, I believe some kind of laundry tag. It has a few moth holes, but I don't mind

Kevin
Gentelmen,
I will post several markings found on pieces of soviet equipment. Even though they are marginal pieces, for me it is quite important to show them here, just for the sake of learning about their authenticity, so other collectos can be aware and avoid them, or know what to look for when buying them in case they are legit.
I will start with a flask:
Hi Guys, please bear in mind this particular forum is for Military Archeology. If your thread is not about ground recovered items or restorations there of, please place your thread in another forum. Double check the list of forums and place it in the most appropriate place.
Thanks! :)
Cheers, Ade.
